“Memory Lives On”

The trees, like people, incorporate what occurs around them in their body and even after they are engraved and are made into beams that hold up human ceilings, they are constantly transforming.  They are “living” matter and they are able to continue teaching if we are willing to watch and listen.

A gathering of trees/men burned by time but yet alive and still calming the skies with an urgent request, they rise vigorously to hold up the universe (the essence of life, its center, the nucleus from where it all begins).

The spatial sphere receives a touch of light on its tight bark, segmented and in apparent calm.  It allows for protection in the interior of this ceremony to the life of the “Memory”.

A sculpture of 4.30 m in height made of Quebracho Colorado logs, steel, resin, fiberglass, stones and cement.  The logs are made from the old beams from the Alcaldia Municipal of Suchitoto.

This work was created by Miguel Martino and developed jointly with the support of the sculptor Tito Hasbun and the group of collaborators of the Central Art for the Peace.
