Maryland of the Oranges, a private Catholic preparatory school for young
women, is sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. It was
established in South Orange in 1935.
The mission of Marylawn of the Oranges is to prepare qualified young women
for college, for work, and for the challenges of rapid societal and
technological change. A dedicated faculty and staff in partnership undertake
this preparation with parents. The school provides cultural diversity, a
challenging rigorous academic curriculum and a school experience designed to
foster independence, initiative, and self-respect.
