Seeking the heart of our mission, we, the Sisters of Charity of Saint
Elizabeth during the next four years will deepen our understanding of and
internalize the values of service, advocacy, and spirituality inherent in
the Vincentian and Setonian tradition.
In solidarity with the economically poor, we commit ourselves corporately
and individually to effect systemic change through education, advocacy, and
collaboration. In particular; we commit ourselves:
|

|
to use our resources and corporate
connections to
promote adequate health care for all persons; |
|

|
to name and work toward the elimination of
oppressions against women and to promote
the transformation of church and culture in the
direction of equality; |
|

|
to counter the pervasive violence of our society
through development of skills, strategies, and
attitudes that embody peacemaking. |
Faithful to the Mission, we commit ourselves to continue the
conversations and examination of our life in community and the simplicity of
our life-style. In response to the Jubilee call, we will actively pursue
peace and reconciliation in our life in community.
This will be a collaborative effort among the General Superior, the General
Council, the Coordinating Council, Mission Reflections Groups, local
communities, and each member of the Congregation. Resources will be
allocated as needed to carry out the work of this direction.
