COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE  

MARCH 8TH - 14TH, 2021

 

IN HONOR OF CATHOLIC SISTERS WEEK WE INVITE YOU TO START A FOOD COLLECTION AND DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL FOOD BANK OR COMMUNITY OUTREACH GROUP.

The increase in food insecurity and underlying causes, such as the

Covid-19 pandemic, poverty, unemployment/underemployment, and inconsistent access to healthy food is a current reality. Let’s join together in this effort to make a difference in our country, especially within your local communities.

 

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

  1. Choose a food bank or local organization that you can donate to.

  2. Gather your friends, family, neighbors, parishes, churches, and colleagues to participate.

  3. During the week of March 8th collect non-perishable food items or gift cards (Walmart,Target, Shoprite) and distribute to your local organization.

  4. Share you success with us! In just a couple of sentences let us know how you participated and please send pictures so we can share and celebrate on social media.

WHAT SHOULD I COLLECT AND DONTATE?

It's best to collect donate non-perishable food items and/or toiletries for your local food bank. Below is a list of suggested items to collect. Share this list with your community, organization, congregation, family and friends.

  • Peanut butter and Jelly

  • Canned tuna and canned chicken

  • Canned vegetables

  • Fruit (Individual serving containers) or canned fruit

  • Cereal (Any hot or cold)

  • Pasta

  • Jar sauce

  • Macaroni and cheese

  • Rice

  • Coffee/tea

  • Boxed milk

  • Snack bars/protein bars/nut bars

  • Popcorn

  • Crackers

  • Snacks

  • Toothpaste/shampoo/soap/hand lotion/hand sanitizer

  • Gift cards
