As National Make-a-Will Month wraps up, we want to thank you for your continued support of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth and their Mission of Charity. Your generous contributions enabled them to provide for the retired sisters and support their ministries even through the pandemic when fundraising activities were eliminated or modified. They are especially grateful to monthly donors whose contributions provide a consistent flow of income to meet routine expenses.
One of the ways you can make a lasting impact on the sisters’ future financial needs is a bequest or other form of planned giving, such as gifts from your IRA and 401(k) retirements accounts, life insurance and appreciated securities. One of their ardent supporters, Jeanne E. Heimbold Boehles, chose to make a lasting gift by naming the Sisters of Charity in her will.
It’s to say thank-you for the many kindnesses they have extended to me as one of their students and for their role-model dedication to Almighty God and their mission. God bless you, Sisters.
National Make-a-Will Month is a reminder that if you do not yet have a will, please consider preparing one. It is the means of determining how your estate will be distributed and of caring for your loved ones. It is also a vehicle for donating to charitable organizations, such as the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, at a future date even if circumstances don’t allow you to support them now.
Consider joining the St. Vincent de Paul Heritage Society whose members name the Sisters of Charity in their will as a beneficiary of a planned gift. By joining this Society, you will be making a lasting contribution to perpetuate the ministries of the Sisters of Charity and you will be ensuring that the retired sisters who selflessly devoted their lives to the Mission of Charity will receive the care they need.
Other benefits of membership in the St. Vincent de Paul Heritage Society include:
* Monthly Mass celebrated for the intentions of the members of the St. Vincent de Paul Heritage Society
* Daily remembrance in the prayers of the sisters
* Lasting remembrance noted in the Archives of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth
